Well spied sir! It's my favourite fuel, burns so clean. I'm using it in this:

It's currently in a box in a thousand pieces though because I've been too busy with Elliot to replace the planet gear it ate in the front differential.

Cheers, it's all down to practice really, but yeah, finding a brand of wire you like does help alot.

Haha tedmcedd, what exactly doesn't work about yours? I'm sure a service of it's parts will get it working again :P.

It's not standard by a long shot.

You're looking at the original Savage SS (the first Savage to come with a .25) and since then it's had:
Spider diff mod front and back (they only has 2 spider gears back then in the early days)
Servo saver mod (original had one on the servo, which was rubbish!)
1/2" offset RPM wheels
Dynamite Mach .26
Futaba 3PK digital transmitter on 40MHz
High flow filter (Motor Saver?)
Dual disc brake
Header tank mod (solves the half tank lean problem Savages have)
I've got a reverse module too but it's not in atm because I stripped it down to save weight

There's more, but honestly, I've been at it that long I've forgotten more than I can remember. I don't replace the plastic arms and hubs with metal, I like them breaking rather than bending something else. As I say, it needs a planet gear atm. I'll work on building it back up over the winter when Elliot is done :P.

I'm currently having a colour dilemma, I can't seem to make up my mind between:

LP2B - VW Orange
P20B - VW Brilliant Orange

The small box is VW Orange and the laptop is VW Brilliant Orange:

At the moment I'm leaning towards the Brilliant Orange.

The other is nice, but it's a bit in your face and in the light it almost looks a bit pink.

Not alot done today, but progress is progress huh .

Posted Image
Transfer casing put on and torqued up.

Posted Image
Clutch seal put in along with primary gear and it's c-washer.

Posted Image
Clutch on.

Basically now, the engine needs the bell housing putting on, the head refurbing and putting on and the timing cover and bottom pulley and she's pretty much done, minus the dizzy and carb :).

Thanks for looking :teehee:.

Managed to get some more work done on the bodywork today so here it is:

Posted Image
Todays area of attack.

Posted Image
I modified part of the repair section I didn't use for the other side.

Posted Image
Marked out where to cut.

Posted Image
Cut out.

Posted Image
Repair tacked in place.

Posted Image
Fully welded and partly ground down.

Posted Image
Finished up properly and etch primed.

That repair will need a skim of filler as expected but it should come out looking just fine :-.

GraemeC has just been round and lent me a valve spring compressor so that I can strip the cylinder head down, clean it, check it over and put it back together with new valve stem seals ready to pop back on top of the 998.

After having the front in place properly I've decided that I don't like the tabs I welded on to the a-panels, especially on the passenger side as the welds distorted the panel ever so slightly. Instead of going back on what I've done by trimming the tabs to how they should be, I've decided for the sake of £12 I'll just replace both a-panels again, there are a few tricks I've learnt in order to do them well anyway.

So once the passenger side is done, I'll be moving on to the boot and leaving the a-panels and front end to be one of the last pieces of bodywork before I prep the whole thing for paint.

Thanks for looking .

Yeah I think Brilliant Orange is what's happening, the other one is too neon and garish I feel.

What makes you say it's rubbish? Getting alot of spatter? That's just gasless, mine spatters all over the shop (usually in to my hand :(), but it can't be helped really.
