Forgive me Graeme!
Recently my weekends have been taken up with decorating I'm afraid. Sanding and painting (sounds a lot like working on Elliot doesn't it).

I have just read all 105 pages of this thread over the past few weeks.
Really good work and an inspiration to us all! Almost didnt dare click on the last page as i was really looking forward to seeing it finished by the end!
Dont give up, but no update in nearly a year is worrying?

Sorry for the let down; I know you'd think the project must be nearly complete by page 100 haha. However never fear, as Graeme says, Elliot is still in my possession although has now moved to another address (first time since 2008!) which I'm hoping will mean I get more time to spend on her.

Thanks again for all your help with this, I really appreciate it :). I just wish I could have been more useful loading and unloading haha.

Cant wait to see this progress again! Great project, was great seeing you at MITP too!
It was great to meet you finally too sir; although it didn't actually occur to me who you were at the time. I need to work on the faces to the names game for last this year!

As I mentioned a few months back in a previous post, with much thanks to GraemeC, Elliot has now been moved to a new home which is only feet away from instead of 70 miles. After the move Christmas and everything that goes with it got in the way but I can now state that over the last fortnight I've spent more time in the garage than I have in the entire year before that.
The first job now that Elliot has moved is to get a work area sorted out because the new garage has no provisions for anything and I want to have somewhere where I can work on a surface instead of on the floor.
I used SketchUp to design a workbench using common and cheap materials from Wickes.
In to the garage where Elliot is waiting patiently. The area you see to the right at the rear of the garage is where the bench will go.
Started cutting everything to size. I've already notched the front legs.
One leg done.
Then there were two.
I'm recessing all the screws for neatness.
A quick test fit up before I packed up yesterday.
I've still got to notch the legs so that the shelf supports sit flush with the top of the legs. Once that's done I'll take it all apart and I'm going to glue the joints in the legs for strength. Once complete though it should be possible to flat pack it by removing both shelves and the back.
Fingers crossed this is the start of some momentum.
Thanks for looking .
