well ive finally got round to starting my build , the old engine/subframe is out and ive picked up my pro-motive kit today!
and what a well engineered kit its impressive and i also like the comprehensive fitting instructions and the nice touches like the numbered subframe
so along with the kit ive got, chain guard, rad fan and a couple of extra bits
ive sourced a low millage 5jj lump complete and will begin the install shortly
stand by for pics and fun!!

advice please!
ok ,im stripping the old subframe down to get my arms off brakes etc, then it occured to me to upgrade them and bolt all new shiney suspension and brakes to my promotive frame .
so..

i have to keep my 10's so brakes wise im limited

what equipment are others running with this setup?

bottom arms:
tie bars:
shocks:
etc.. exotic rose jointed stuff or meerly h/d stuff?

all rose jointed and turbo brakes for me. you're going to need some really good stopping power.

progress so far ...
picking 5jj engine up this weekend its complete and has a ported head fitted apparently 160 bhp!
anyway doing various jobs ready for install tidying up bulkhead , fitted pot joints and now deciding where to put inner wing rad vent as mk1 minis differ in this respect still were getting there...

thats looking good, you got the ATB diff in there?

what battery are you running in it?

the 5JJ should have 160bhp as standard, so you probably have a little more than that if its ported! awsome
