Hi all.

I recently been given there details.
Just wanted to find out there, if anyone has used them before?

are they still going...

its about 10min drive from me,
and I have there number, so I will phone and pop down there soon.

I need to ask and quote,

if there able to either fix a timing chain on the engine thats in there.
(as its all gone and the timing changes each time the engine is turned)

or replace and put a 1275 engine in it.

either way,
I'm happy to pay someone to do a decent job and has the time to do it.
cause I dont!

just wanted to know if anyone had any services from them?

You could also try Sleaford Mini Centre, also in that area so maybe not far from you? They have a web site if you do a quick search.

I got a email back from Steve at the sleaford mini centre.

The best way would be for you to get the car to us ( we can recover if neccessary) we could then look over the current engine & quote on the work required to sort the problems & also on fitting your 1275 unit then you can weigh up the options available before we proceed.

I need to sort of find out a rough price on a engine change?
anyone know how much it would cost for a 998 to be taken out then a 1275 to be put in?

been quoted now from Sleaford Mini Centre for the Engine change...

to remove existing engine & fit own supplied complete 1275 unit £235 inc vat plus any parts

So I'm going to do it, and find some other bits to help it be easy change.
might get a new exhaust system too.

still unsure wether to keep the straight cut gearbox now... or sell it on...

but where are you based?
bet your not close to PE13? are you...

I've sent a email back,
as I need other work doing also.

Arches cutting at the front,
6x9 holes cut in rear parcel,

and depending on my gearbox, might ask to put that on the 1275 and then put it in...

unfortnately i'm about a 2 and half hour drive from you! as a rough idea though, swapping your box before the engine goes in would be £60 on top and chopping your arches and shelf would be another £40..

that sounds really good.
we see what Steve quotes at Slearford Mini Centre.

Hopefully along the same ball mark.
might aswell get it all done at the same time.
