Got it:
http://www.pl8s.co.uk/

The yellow and black ones claim to be reflective, but I no nothing of the legalities of them, only to assume that they are illegal outside the appropriate application; a 1974 car for example.

with the metal yellow and white ones - they have to the be the original ones - you can't retrofit them so if you get stopped and they are new ones they will not be happy :D

(I hope that made sense? if they were on the car when it was out of the factory and through some miracle they haven't been nicked/damaged or fallen off in this time you can keep them on)

ive got a 79(v) clubby estate and got pulled over due to my own carelessness ....not the point but the officer said to me those plates are illegal where did you get them his partner gave him a blank look and asked why , so it seems only the older more expierienced officers can tell ive since spoken to an officer and if the year marker is at the end ofthe plate (e.g. JDF 841V) then they dont really notice/care/mind that they are black and silver

My mate had Black silver plates on his Chevette which was 2years too young to have these plates as standard. The car was on the road for over a year with no problems, didnt get stopped or anything. Then one night a traffic cop pulled him and slapped him with a sixty pound on the spot fine, and he had the yellow plates underneath them, he asked if he could pull them off but it was toom late. It is illegal no matter what, if a police officer pulls you its not too bad but if its a traffic officer they will get you.

1989flame as he saifd if your reg is backwards in want of a better word it still doesnt mean youll get away with it, my mate didnt and his plate was this format. The experienced bobbys will just check over the radio before taking your cash.

hope this helps
