Hello
I was wondering if anyone could help me out with a few questions regarding alloy wheels.
I have just bought a 94 Mini Sprite (love it already) and it has the standard black wheel arch and thin steel wheels. I am looking for alloy wheels and have read around but I still can't work out for the different sizes whether they fit easily, or whether they need the wheel arch trimming in order to fit, spacers etc.
I would prefer to go for an option that didn't require trimming the wheel arch as I can't be bothered and am useless at things like that, but will still fill the arch.
Is there a guide to what fits what and what work needs doing with with each? or is there just a size that I should stick to?
I ones I like the look of are 10x5 Revolutions, 12x5 Revolites with 165 tyres, 10x5 Wolfrace and the standard Minilite 12x5, 12x5.5 and 12x6
Would appreciate any assistance - don't want to buy the wrong ones only for them to need extra work/look rubbish.

right, first forget 10" wheels unless you are considering changing your front calipers/disks to cooper S (or equivalent) versions...
if you want to avoid arch cutting, then your only SAFE option is a 12x5 wheel, 12x5.5's you may just get away with... 12x6's you will need to trim the forward edge of the arch metal..
13's forget it...
more information on wheels can be found in the FAQ's

As above... you will have to cut the front arch if you want to have 12*6's not a massive job but if you dont want to do it i would suggest 12*5's
our 12*6's fitted once the below was done.

Thanks for your help.
It looks like 12x5s black revolites it is then. I can guarantee cutting that wheel arch would end in disaster for me or car.
Just wanted to check I can go for 165/60/12 with no worries?
