Pretty much all of the welding is done.
So a bit of undersealing was in order.
I know the oversills police will be onto me soon but they were on there when I got the car.
The original sills have been cut out and these have been put in place. I am asuming this is because of cost.
I plan on putting some holes in them to let them breathe.
Subframe is also off again and in my garage for rebuilding.

I also managed to put my dash together.

Top left gauge is a TIM oil temp, top middle is an AEM Wideband gauge, top right is a TIM 1BAR boost gauge (i also have a TIM 2BAR gauge when I feel like more than 15psi of boost), bottom left is a TIM water temp gauge, bottom middle is a TIM voltage gauge and finally bottom right is a TIM oil pressure gauge.
Hopefully progress updates should be more frequent now.

Theres nowt wrong with those sills. If you want to have holes in em, then go for it, water will just get in !
All the old sill was cut away only leaving the points for the new one to be welded onto. Plus they've been on for 4/5 years and haven't rustedd

Need to get your finger out with this !

I have taken my crank, rods & block for a bit of modification
I'm having the crank wedged, bladed & x-drilled. I will then take it for a grind (if required) and then hardening.
The rods are being lightened. Should be approx 600g eachwhen finished.
The block is being modified for oil fed thrust bearings to stop the double grey clutch lunching them and is also being machined for under piston crown oil jets.
Also continuing with the engine mod theme I have bought a Switftune duplex timing set from "magicmat"
I'm just getting around to some shell work. I have done a little bit so far but nothing pic worthy.

Little comparison shot.
The crank has been wedged, knife edged and backdrilled on the mains webs. Carl was also nice enough to do the finishing work on the crank and turn the outside diameter down.
Next jobs for the crank is to it ground, balanced, hardened and re-checked for straightness.

Hi Matt,
Unfortunately houses, girlfriends & now twin babies got in the way.
Lots of bits of it live on in my other cars & the restored shell is being re-used by a friend from TurboMinis.
The block ended up in a 200bhp turbo-mini, the head is on my turbo mini (and was also for a while on the fastest turbo metro van in the world TM), interior is in my clubby, front subframe is in my container as a spare, dash went in my old Jet Black.
Sorry I never finished it!
