1071cc 's' motor
Weber 40 on 3.5 inch manifold
Oselli OE62 head 36x31 14.4cc chambers, 12-1 CR
Lightened and balanced end to end
Ultralight fly and backplate
Grey clutch and AP 'rally' friction plate
Re-ground and re-hardened 's' crank
Swifty SW10 cam
1.08 ratio s/c drops
S/c clubman gearset
X-pin diff with 3.6 FD (equates to 3.9 with drops)
Maniflow stage 2 LCB with twin box centre exit system
83bhp at the wheels
A cracking motor with a mad rev limmit, not as useable as something like a 1380 tho as it requires you to drive everywhere with your foot firmly welded to the floor. Massive fun tho, even with the lack of torque.
Just for anyone to referance seeing as 998modding is becoming popular....my old motor
998cc pocketed
12g940 head
twin 1 1/4 carbs
286 cam
lightened verto fly
GT gearbox
4.1 final drive
64bhp at the fly
IMO it was over cammed for the spec of the motor. Had much more potential if the assembly was lighteneed and balanced, also should have honed and re-ringed the block... If your thinking of doing the same either use a slightly tamer cam, or make sure the top end is perfect and possibly a weber, you'll see 70+
