the only hard part is blocking the holes in the engine and drilling new ones
na really...go read miniboo's project and you will soon see why its MUCH more difficult
your dad may be a mechanic but so? does he have access to to accuratly offset bore your 998 block to accept the head?
also do you understand about the 1098 ISNT the same as a 998 which you seem to be rather confused about...do you even know what piston compression height is?
also...how do you work out its going to be more reliable?
by that reconing all things that were designed for my engine, it should be super reliable...and yet...its not

Not sure on power but it goes better than the old 998 did, i'm geussing around the 45-50bhp.

Just finished my new build; Its a pre A-plus 998 at +0.030" (havent got a clue what that is, but it wont exactly make any difference!!) With a 12G295 skimmed to suit, not sure on CR but nothing too high. Got a kent 544 profile cam in there aswell (surprisingly not as cammy as i thought it was going to be).

Really? What sort of output you reckon that engine should be getting?

and the cam you have is quite similer and the head flows okay too. so around the 55-60 mark.

A well tuned 998 with a 12g295 and a HIF38 should easily make 60bhp if not more!
very true.
im pretty sure the best head you can put on a small bore is a 295/202 when you have them modified.
the 295 can be modified to flow daft ammounts. the same head to go onto a big bore would require the block pocketing at +20 thou over bore.
