Early last week I discovered that my squirters were no longer squirting.
To figure out why they were not working I connected a multimeter to the two electrical wires going to the washer bottle pump. The connection was sound. I also checked the water pipes were not blocked by blowing thorought it, the remaining water squirted on the windsreen. Therefore I knew the pump was at fault and had to be changed.
Note: It is best to change the pump when there is very little washer fluid in the bottle for obviouse reasons.
Remove washer bottle by pulling it straight up. (Being careful it doesnt snag on any wires).
(The new pump can be seen on top of the brake fluid resevoir)
Remove the electrical connection and attach it to the new pump. Also remove the water tubing and attach it to the new pump. You can then take the old pump out of the bottle being careful not to spill any wather that may remain in the bottle.
Electrical wires attached:
Water pipe attached:
(oh yes that is my TMF wristband )
Then insert the pump into the bottle, pushing it fully down into the connection hole.
Bottle and pump ready:
Then simply replace the washer bottle, it is held in place by two right angled sections of steel that groves on the back of the bottle should just slide into. (Again take care of wires)
