I am seriously impressed, for someone who hasnt done this before you have done a quality job!
I want to do the same to my mayfair next year and like you have no experience what so ever, how did you find learning to weld and did you buy all the gear to do it?
Any idea how much the total build is going to cost you?
How long from start to finish as well.
Good luck with it all, will be keeping an eye on your progress - good to see an amateur take on such a major build!

Thks for the comments, i purchased two mini restoration books, one a Haynes and the other by Practical classics and found these very good indeed, then beg and borrowed a lot of the gear it does help where i work as we have two guys that are qualified welders so they taught me a lot, must admit found it very hard at first but learnt when you weld on the mini you cant weld rust the metal has tobe perfect.
The cost well i'm frightened to add it all up, but almost everything i have purchased is brand new including nuts and bolts from many of the mini specialist out there, the only thing second hand was the roof off ebay £20.!!
Time scale sofar car collected end of may this year plan to finish intime for my wive as her birthday present in June 2009.!!!
One thing if you can get a spot welder do so found it a god send.

Never fitted an a panel before so was pleased with the fit and door fitment.
And finally bent the lip round the a pane using the instructions posted on here, using these tools.
More updates soon.
