I noticed your window winder handle is broken, I have two that could be used, don't think they have the chrome
affect in the middle but your more than welcome to them. If you need them pm your address and I send them. best wishes Yan. PS: Is that small hole in the rear panel for the car ariel, and was that an original feature on some GT's. If I remember rightly the 1976 GT I owned many moons ago hand the ariel mounted on the roof. A nice chrome ariel would look great positioned where it is on yours.

That masking tape arrangement on the driver side door looks like a little man trying to steer the Mini!

Looks brilliant already! Should be a flawless paint job.

ARRRGHHHHHHH NNNNOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

Please don't drill big holes in your wings for those arches!
Buy some Wood and Picket style ones that actually mount into the side trim.
That way, should you ever want to put it back to standard, there will be no holes to fill, and the standard Black arch trim will cover up the holes...

I personally like the arches, they are quite original to the car and once fitted I think a chrome or black trim would then go from the front of the wheel arch along the sills and to the back of the rear arch in one go. The only thing I would advice is to purchase some rubber trim to protect the body, from vibration scores and scratch's seeing as they look to be made of metal which could cause rust later on down the years. I purchased some rubber for mine, as I eventually plucked up the courage to spray the arches BRG same as the Coops colour. The company is called Minimedics base in Darley Dale. Tel: 01629 732885, I know it cost under a tenner with post.
The arch holes also seem to have good clearance for pot riveting from above the arch (I mean hold the rivet gun from above lookin down) , unlike the special archs, which I must admit I chickened out and sprayed a lock of screws brg and screwed them on. The rivets can be hand painted once fitted.
PS: I did not super glue the U shaped rubber, just dressed it with each fixing, but you have a lot more clearance from hole to the curve of the arch, so it might be an idea. The rubber may even cover the rivets so just get some one to lift the rubber when riveting.
Whatever you do good luck, beautiful job.

None of the 1275GT's came with wheel arches.
It is your car though.......

I know they did not, but these arches are personal to this car, thats what I meant, maybe worded it wrong.
More pics please.

As the body will be back sometime this week, iam turning my thoughts to the engine.

The current engine which is still tobe collected is an unknown quantity as its not run in probably 20yrs!!!.

I'm guessing it will need a full strip and rebuild.

Does anyone know of a figure a full engine rebuild will cost, as i have to keep an eye on how much i'm spending at the moment.

The price is between £600-£700 for the respray.....no welding was done, just a respray.
