Well i was given a Mini Clubman 1275 GT 1979, saved it from the scrap man, after a good closer inspection it has had some welding done mainly over sills and two front floors, the roof in all four coners has rotted through, i guess a new roof there, the rest dont look to bad, if i can help it dont want to remove the front body panels or is it a case you have too.

Oh and i forgot too mention never tackled anything like this before so maybe on here asking a lot of questions and asking for help.

I had a rotted out roof corner but managed to graft in a small section rather than a whole new roof, just depends how bad yours is. What type of sunroof is that? Looks like a slidey glass type?

Front body panels will probably have to come off - it's usually a case of the further you dig the more rust you find!! For that reason I took mine back to bare metal all over to uncover any possible nasties.

I love GT's though and this looks like it has great potential - Good luck!

Once it's all stripped give it a good pressure wash or just a general hose down. then you need to start investigating the whole car panel by panel seeing what needs patching, rewelding, replacing or a mix of all :owned:

Yes they are the most recent pictures all i have done is stripped all the interior out apart from the steering column, engine bay is clear apart from wiring loom, all running gear is still on the mini so i can atleast move it in and out.

Was thinking of removing subframes and maybe turning on its side to investigate futher??

Good plan. :owned:
Looks like it'll be a lovely little GT. What are you gonna do with it? Restore to the original spec or personalise it a bit? :P

Think i'm going to personalise and keep some of the originality, the engine is a 1310cc so thats a start.!

I would like to know the colour code if anyone knows it.

So its subframes off and check whats going on underneath??
