Hi everyone i once again have another question lol,

I have just finished putting a 1275 metro turbo in my mini with the mirage exhaust system and the t2 turbo.
now i have it all up and running but when i was excelerating in neutral as i push the pedal the engine pops. looking at a tube on the carb where i have blocked off a hole i can see a flash as if some sort of combustion is coming back into the carb.
The other problem is a lot of white smoke coming from either the downpipe, exhaust manifold or head gasket. The mixture is good more rich than lean from what i can tell.
I cant tell exactly where the smoke is coming from but its quite a lot of smoke enough to make me feel dizzy and sick.
I tried driving the car and when the clutch starts to bite it starts popping and jerking all over the place i have to build the engine revs up, and release the clutch slowly to get it to move and even then the car lacks power and has the problem in the other gears. I do not have a compression tester incase anyone asks about that.

As far as i know everything was put together properly, so any help here will be appreciated seen as its really stressing me out because i just want to drive the car!

cheers
oli

Sounds like it needs setting up properly, ignition and fuelling are probably way off.

I dont no much about turbos, but as said above sounds like setup.
Does it improve with choke on?
Get a timing like and a color tune and just go threw everything, and im sure you'll get it sweet :xxx:

yer possibly the ignition needs sorting out properly plus the fueling.
does anyone think this could be a head or exhaust gasket problem? because i hope not seen as the exhaust and inlet manifolds are a pig to get off.
I do have a leak in the exhaust so possibly that could be causing a problem?

cheers for the help
