I spent today removing and stripping the head, which was painful but not too bad thankfully.
Once i had got the head off, i had to lift it down the hill (i good few hundred metres) in a tray, carb and all. [It was u]incredibly[/u] heavy.
I got it to dads shed, heaved it onto the workbench and removed the carb and manifold.
Then, i set to work with removing the valves.
Routed through the filing cabinet (yes we really do house our tools in a filing cabinet) and found dad's age old valve spring clamp (he had a better one but it was for bigger heads).
I got about five out, then on the sixth, (because my dad somehow managed to bend this clamp slightly during its lifetime, it was a bit sketchy when compressing the springs) i managed to hurt myself. The clamp sprung off the spring, sending the spring full pelt into my finger, causing immense pain and bleeding. Just to give you an idea of how much it hurt, it pretty much made me almost throw up due to the pain

The last two came out fine though

Pics to come tomorrow.
