It's really stupidly easy. If you've done work on minis before, you'll figure it out no problem. Stick your head under and have a look! slightly more complicated on mk1's though I believe.

Cool, thanks for the input guys. My project mini has been laid up for a while now, just not had the time.
I'm gonna try doing these panels as soon as i have picked up the mini, just worried about the fit, although i have ordered haritage panels.

I actually have only ever fitted non genuine A panels, and the fit has always been great, so I guess heritage will be even easier.

Somerfords website gives a fair few exploded body pictures

And like mentioned A panels are pretty simple to replace..
I've done a few, easiest way to remove is to run a cutting disk up the seam between wing and A panel, then grind off the welds on the door pillar section..
clean up the wing ready to reweld new A panel., check condition of flitch panel where it meets the doorpost section, on the two I've done the've all gone there as well.
Not sure about heritage panels, but on the pattern A panels you have to bend the lip of the section that hooks onto the door pillar.
I just find a piece of sheet same thickness as the lip on the door pillar and bend over the edge.
It'll make more sense when you remove the old panel and see your replacement panel.
