it is because your running metro flanges and have moved the wheels out 10mm each side so the steering arc is increased a little,
You maybe able to trim the leading edge of the wing/arch a little?
It isnt a major problem really but the sportspack minis had steering lock stops built into the rack to limit the lock so they didnt foul the arches or wings.
These maybe an idea if your very concerned????

Cheers

So if I drop an inch off the wheel width and run 10x5 with the same offset as my 10x6 GB it should give a bit better clearance? save cutting the wing?

im looking for getting hoses made up now and have a favour to ask.

can people who have had custom hoses made up post where you had the hoses made, a desrciption on hose length and the fittings and a price if possible?

its not really a big ask and im sure it will help many other people who do this conversion, a bit like the wheels/caliper list but for the hoses.

cheers

Parts from Tweeks;
Built by Mark Rally
Got them from his house :proud:)

Well Mark got the parts from Tweeks and made them up (2x Banjo, 2 X mini subframe connections and hose). They cost about £50 and use the banjo on the caliper end the vid shows the length (I think it was 32CM including the fittings) and how to make sure that they seal on the caliper.

I read in minimag that there is a dude in the US selling a full conversion...

nice one graham, i hadnt actually watched the video before now, its very good.

now i know exactly what i need for my hoses. are they easy to make up yourself? ive looked at the instrucitons purtsi posted earlier in the thread but dont really follow them...

i have 6x10 wellers but i have a removeable front and its off at the moment so im not sure if my wheels will foul on the wing now...

You don't need any special tools when assembling the hoses. What you'll find in your garage is enough :D Just follow the instructions and you can't fail.

ive finally sorted my life out and got some hoses.

i got them through rally design, they made them up for me too. 20* extended banjo on the fiesta end, stainless braided hose, 320mm end to end, little under £40.

here's the best bit... i ordered them at about 2:30 pm yesterday and they turned up at my house at 9:30 this morning.

cant recommend them enough.

they are the perfect length, im just a little unsure about the copper washer sealing against the caliper face.

marc or graham, which cutter did you use and where can you get them from?

cheers

dont worry ive sorted a cutter now, just need to get a bush made to fit in the caliper to locate the cutter.

Yes, those are Fiesta brake calipers, but this conversion is made so that you use your existing brake drum hubs + mini flanges + Fiat 127 brake disc + bespoke "metal thingie" (pic)

A waaaayyyyy cheaper brake disc conversion than what we have done here lol. People who are racing in Mini 1000 Cup here in Finland have been using this conversion over 10 years now and I found out about this few days a go. There are a bit metal work involved, but not much more than this other setup i think. Clever stuff huh? :(

looks good

i have added up the cost of my conversion, calipers, hubs, discs and hoses and it came to £97.

not bad for decent disc brakes under 10" wheels.
