Remember that I will buy these hoses and fittings from Finland, I bet that u get those cheaper in UK wink.gif. And i'm going for the braided ones if possible:)

LOL! didnt realise you were in finland, haha dont worry about it then.

Banjo's require a good face to seel against and if your using recon calipers that face is often milled back meaning the recess may be too small.

yes this is what im worried about, my calipers arent recon but the face is a little scabby, i was thinking it would be ok to clean it up with alumnium oxide paper. but im not sure if the copper washer will be thick enough to fill the recess...

graham how close are you to fitting the hoses you will have to let us know.

Im using a 90 deg union where its going into the caliper.

where from? i havent been able to find any m10x1 90* unions. have you got a picture of your set up? where did you get the hoses made?

With regards to using the banjo fittings i have a small cutting tool which we use at work for facing off a small circular area around a hole with a hand drill so i am maching grahams to ensure a perfect seal but i have been able to acheive a good seal on a non recessed caliper with a smooth file and then finish it off with some wet&dry papaer wrapped arond the same file and polish it up smooth (put some grease in the hole to stop the metal going inside the caliper then remove it when done)
Will post some pics this week to show what i mean.

Cheers

The cutter is large enough to remove the recess and our banjo will clear it anyway as it has a slight bend in it, but you can always run 2 washers under the banjo as it will seal when torqued up anyway.

ah, are you cutting the whole recess out so it is just a flat face?

2 washer would work yeah.

are you using a 20* union then?

Just visited the local speedshop. They said that they don't make brake hoses but they can supply Goodridge hoses and connectors that I can assemble myself. All the parts together should be about 70€.

I believe it's just cutting the hose in to correct lenght and attaching the connectors. That should be it. pls correct me if I'm wrong.

If i have understood right, the connectors will be tighten over the hose and inside the connector, there's a "pearl" which holds the hose in place and prevents leaking.

by the way. look at the goodridge catalog. Lot of different kind of connectors and hoses there.

edit: look at the chapter 10. There are assembly instructions :gimme:
