people over on minifinity who are doing this conversion are trying to start a list of what wheels fit with mk1 and mk2 calipers

could poepl who have the festa brakes post on heree what mk they are and what wheels they have aso i ciould transfer it all over to minifinity, ill transfer the info from there to here too so everyone can look at it...

Hi I could make them up for you but it depends what result you want from them in terms of reliability and how they perform over a period of time to be honest.
With grahams setup, we have chosen a more exensive soloution in terms of fitting but hopefully the route of the pipe will be under less stress when in use, i will only know the exact length needed when we have fitted the new hubs and calipers and then make them to suit.
Will post some pics up next week when we assemble everything plus were doing a small "How-to" video guide aswell on this conversion.

How long hoses you guys have been using? I think that the normal hose length is a bit too short for this conversion.



That hose seems to be long enough, is that like 35-40cm?

ealier in the thread the guy who started it says he used 32cm hoses and they were fine, im not going to decide on a length until its all on the car, then i can know for definate.

i was going to use a banjo at the caliper end as well to try and avoid having the hose all bent round like the above.

I'm still thinking that should I use banjo as well or go with normal connectors. Will visit local speedshop tomorrow and ask if they can make those hoses for me and see how much those would cost. I don't think that the hose will bent in any situation so much that it would affect braking like in that picture. It would look a bit better if it wouldn't been bent at all though.

Remember that I will buy these hoses and fittings from Finland, I bet that u get those cheaper in UK . And i'm going for the braided ones if possible:)

The pic shows the Mk1 calipers the hose enters the caliper from the top on the Mk2 hence why we are going to use banjo or the bends will get in the way of everything....

Oh bugger. I just realized that I need the banjos as I have mk2 calipers too, had to check from pics I've taken. Thanks for reminding me Gr4h4m

Banjo's require a good face to seel against and if your using recon calipers that face is often milled back meaning the recess may be too small. Im using a 90 deg union where its going into the caliper. This means no crazy S bends like my first hose arangement! I think im using about 32cm still but cant remember if i changed it with this latest set of hoses.

Well I've been doing that reconditioning myself so caliper haven't been skimmed, only brushed clean and painted. So should I use banjo or that 90 deg union?
