Hi guys i need some help. I've had a quick browse but can't find any one with a similar problem. My wipers started over wiping. They start just below windscreen rubber and wipe in an arc across to approx 4 inch of the drivers side of the mini. I have replaced the motor and park switch the rack and the 2 wheelbox assemblies as well as fitting new 11 inch arms and 10inch blades (which are now ruined after several attempts to sort this mess out). The problem has gotten slightly worse since fitting the new parts. Because the drivers side wiper is wiping so far over, on its return it is sticking on the windscreen rubber so i cant even attempt to use them till i get this sorted. I have checked the haynes manual to see if there is any way of adjusting the size of the wipe arc but can't find anything. I have looked at there diagrams to check if the assembly is the same and it matches so don't know what else to try.

Sounds like the rack is worn where it connects to the motor, is there much free play if you move the wipers by hand?

Also, were the wheel boxes and motor brand new? Motors in particular are available to give different sweep angles for various models of car - once upon a time most cars had mini style wiper racks. you may even find a sweep angle stamped on the motor's wheel box.

The rack is brand new and so are the wheelbox assemblies. The motor is also new.

Are the wiper arms cranked so the blades sit parallel to the screen edge when parked.

Yep but park just below if i can get them to return back across the screen.
Tried readjusting but always park back just below the windscreen rubber and make the same arc each time

The only thing I can think is that you have the wrong motor. I could see straight arms causing a problem but you say that's not the case.

There is a bloke on Ebay who sells wiper motors for minis, but they come with the wrong degree of wipe.... We bought two off hime before we realised...!!! They did exactly what you described. The degree of wipe is stamped on the big cog inside the wiper motor. I think yours should be 110 degrees, but the ones i bought came with 135 or something stupid...!!!
