Dale, have you got any pics of how you have done the seat rails??
If i mount mine on the mini box section at the front the seats are a litt too high even on the lowest setting on the subframes so i was considering lowering the box section and rewelding it in back in and using 1" box tubing braced between the sill and tunnel for the rear mount.

cheers Mark :wales:

Hi Mark

If I remember rightly most of the steel bodied z-car mini have the box section left in because even with it in the floor sags alot. I'm sure you could make it smaller so you can mount the seats lower but I don't remember anyone else having to.

I had mine removed as the seats never would have fitted with it still in place!

What seats have you bought? Are they different to the usual suspects? ie cobra monacos imolas etc etc

I was just going to lower the box section an inch or so by cutting the top off and removing an inch off the sides and welding the top on again.
Here are the seats..............

another..

Is that your car in the early stages?? It doesnt look like it!!!!I

I could live with the height as it is but when i put my helmet on aswell it is touching the roof so no good for the trackday's!!!!!!!
I cant lower the back of the seat anymore on the subframes as the base of the seat is level with the bottom of the subframe, even though i could drill holes lower down.

Ollie if i put it further back on the floor i cant reach thew gearstick, you must have arms like mr tickle

No that's Davids mini (R1mini)

He will be starting his own post soon..

Have you got the normal length gearstick? If so, you can bend it quite easily

I assume it is a homebuilt kit and not z-cars judging by the floor profile???

Yeh, he's doing a de dion rear setup, with a carb'd R1 engine and quaiffe ATB diff. The top trailing arms will mount onto that bar behind the seat. Will be very inteesting to see how this one turns out as it could have some good mods that the zcars boys could upgrade to.

Just a quick question R1minimagic. Im planning on fitting bike throttle bodies to my car and was wondering the diameter of the ones on your R1 motor. I need some around 40mm
