I dont think he will sell that R1 kit for £11.5k, you could probably build a complete car for that much.............. :gasp: :gasp: :gasp: :gasp: :gasp: :gasp:

Just had a look on e-bay and it has been sold for £11.5k
But i had a look at the feedback for the guy who has bought it and it makes interesting reading :gasp: :fear: :fear: :fear:

I had a look at it at z-cars today, didnt look too bad to me if you want a fast route to a bike engined mini
Also studied the twin busa/twin turbo 4wd ultima, what a peice of kit!!!!!! :D  :)

Cheers mark :wales:

Not only has he wasted the guys time, he has wrecked his 100% rating and cost him money. Losers like that should be hung drawn and quartered..

I have got loads of pics of the car. Anything in particular you wanted to see??

Did you purchase the plumbing kit off chris ? I have but the alloy pipes which run up the tunnel are just straight lengths and are nothing like the ones shown in the video, ie bent to shape!!!!!!

Also what are you using for tie rods and bottom arms there is so much choice i dont know what to fit for the best and what about solid mounts on the front subframe????

Mark :wales:

Ps did you fit an extra floor stiffener/ seat mount to yours? I have read it on here but i cant think which car it was in???

Any photos greatfully received.........

Mark

I got the ally tubing off Chris (28mm) but i made the mounts myself as you can see in the pic. Chris has the tubes quite far apart, hence the need for a bend in one of them. I made mine closer together so that they both fit down one side of the gear linkage and therefore don't need a bend. R1Mini are your pipes off Chris bent or straight??

My suspension is all rose jointed, I think from Minisport. Only problem is that they are not 'on-car' adjustable which would be better. I have to take one end off to turn the rose joints. Front subframe is solidly mounted on floor and has nylon mounts on the tower fittings.

You can see the extra box section across the floor on page 3 of this post!

Mark,

I too used straight 28mm ally tubing bought from a local metal suppliers (well alright then, "borrowed" from work :cheese: ). I mounted them using rubber lined P-clips down either side of the tunnel. No need for any bends.

If you did want to hug the contour of the tunnel exactly you could always cut a section of the pipe out and replace it with flexible hose maybe. I've used the same ally tube section anywhere remotely straight.

I use rose jointed lower arms (on-car adjustable) and H/D adjustable tie rods with polybushes- both minisport I think.

My pipes were straight, if they do the job then great, I'm a little dissapointed they didn't have beads rolled on the ends to prevent the rubber pipes coming off, although I know you haven't had any problems

Cheers

I haven't had any problems with pipes coming off. My car runs really cool when it is on the move (about 70-75 degrees C). If you are concerned you could buy one of those exhaust pipe spreaders and put your own enlargements in...

Hi,

We got the DVD last week. Very impressive. Had also seen your car at Avon Park as well, only 2 secs slower than the R1 bike if I re-call.

Did you get your front end through Chris??

We're looking at doing a spaceframe build.

Regards,

Les.
