i'm currently running minispares alloy 4pots on cooper s solid discs but i will get the spacer kit for these calipers to run vented 7.9 discs when i do the conversion. this will help keep the costs down.

One more question though! If I fit a bias valve, presumably I can bin the standard pressure regulating valve can't I? All this sounds great! I like the idea of deleting things, especially large heavy things like servo's....
Matt, the offer is still open, I'll email you with my address. Not as far on as I had planned (as always!) as I am only picking the shell up this afternoon, but it should hopefully be rolling again by Sunday afternoon.

Hi, there is a unfinished project going on e-bay at the moment?R1, DD,
just been up to Zcars this morning for a chat and demo in the busa mini - BLIMEY - i nearly eartha kitt'ed my self!
have to say the handling was brilliant - felt just like a normal mini. the brakes were mtero 4pot vented with race pads up front (needed warming up). rears were zcars standard fitment.
after this morning, i am definitely Zcar-ing my mini next year.
DD - is the offer open to come over this weekend?
matt

I have spoken to guy rob in the past as he owned the original white R1 powered mini of z-cars. He bought it from them as he could wait to finish his own and now looks like he has given up alltogether!!!
Chance for someone to get there hand on one.

Also, the zcars hyabusa is 100Kg heavier than mine with more weight over the back end due to the heavier engine, reverse etc so that will help it as well. And with 2 people, including Chris!, i think it will be well over 800Kg!!
I think the maximum reduction that the bias valves will give is 57% so i might need to fit 2 inline. Will try 1 to start with and see how it goes.
Has anybody got a measurement of the current rear disc size?? Ade, Pete, DD, Alburglar, Mark???? :erm: :erm:

regarding rear brakes, i believe chris as stated that the rear discs were 8 1/4 inch - didn't state what car they were from though.
wilwood have brought out a lighter and probably cheaper version of the sierra 4x4 caliper with mechanical handbrake mechanism - they are advertised in this months PPC mag at £69 each which is a really good price, if you wanted to keep the price down - you could even source some smaller discs and drill the mount holes yourself.
went over to see DD's R1 coming alond - very nice indeed DD! tweed grey with a black roof. will look great when everything is fitted.
still trying to justify £5k for the kit, but i think if i do bite the bullet, i won't order the rad, front suspension, front crash bar or exhaust - its too big and sits too close to the driveshaft gaitor.

I did think about drilling the mounting points and getting smaller discs but far easier just to fit a bias valve (or 2!!)
I dont think he will sell that R1 kit for £11.5k, you could probably build a complete car for that much.............. :gasp: :gasp: :gasp: :gasp: :gasp: :gasp:
