It would be nice to know how much sound proofing is needed to do a mini! Thinking of doing mine soon :)

i think, i will end up using 90 metres and that's doing the boot, floor pan, roof, doors, rear sides and bulk head (inside)
basically any where you can not see!
the edead stuff is meant to be good, that's why i went with it, you can get it here http://www.edaudio.com/store/edead.php

but i got mine off eBay http://cgi.ebay.co.u...1QQcmdZViewItem

your looking at around £140 to £150 to do it all.

Cool! I was looking at that stuff on eBay too, alot cheaper than dynamat but I was wondering if quality might be affected. Is the Original2 the bitumen stuff that stops panel vibration, it's hard to know from their website!

whatever sound deadening you put up and around the bulkhead and toe-board, be aware of the heat the R1 produces - very toasty ! the manifold comes very close and I've been surprised how much heat is transferred into the cabin.

looking very good so far by the way !!

I've had Edead before,... needs heating with a hairdryer once it's on the panel to get it to stick properly, but in all, works very well :) i've now moved onto flashband.. cheaper, more plentiful and thicker.

i've got to say i'm really impressed with the sound deadening you've laid down there... very neatly done.

just out of interest and PM me is you like but what sort of budget have you got for doing this project ? I'd love to do something similar but havent got a clue what this sort of thing costs.

Just had a quick look at the project so-far,... looks very good!!
Think you got lucky with a nice tidy shell there, saved yourself loads of time!

Cheeky as hell, but wouldn't mind a look in a few months when things have progressed if that be cool with you?!.. I'm going to start planning one if these in a year or so to go in mine when the funds become available and my knowledge, well becomes available too! lol
Did the guy in the TVR come for another look at the clubman?

hi all, been a long time i know! "R lass made me do house up first" but over the holidays i have had a garage clear out and can finaly get in there and get on with some mini building....

just fitted the rear beam today, and will fit the radius arms tomorrow.

will try to post some pics tomorrow as well!

jplonie -- the lad in the TVR never came back to me about the orange mini, but sold it about 2 week later anyway, his loss, it was a good one that one!
