Sound like it needs servicing and re filling with fluid, prob takes hydroulic oil but not 100%

That reminds me i need to do the same for my trolly jack!!

Where did the fluid come out of?

Was it around the neck seal? ie where the chrome shaft extends out?

If so pls don't use this until it is fixed!!

It is dangerous

you might have a airlock in the hydrualic lines which is why it might be pumping and then stopping, but if its leaking fluid its going to need new seals if you can get them, if you put new hydrualic oil in whens it leaking, air is just going to get back in your going to have new hydraulic oil all over your floor

It's just run low on hydraulic fluid 'n it sounds like there' a worn seal. Have look to see if the manufacturer has a website, you may find some service info.

Someone very naughty might suggest you top it up with EP90 gear oil, it'll be thicker so won't piddle out past the seals so easily BUT is will mean the safety valve won't operate at the correct load if you hang more than those 750kgs (more than a whole Mini) off it.

yes! if the oil has piddled out it needs replacing, and if it piddled out its likely to be a worn seal. id imagine you dont want to use it at all untill its sorted.

You need to broaden your internet search, find a few firms, then use the telephone to see who can help or direct you to the right place.

Start with google and use keywords like "epco floor crane". You'll find this firm:
http://chesterchain.com/services.htm
They sell HEAVY lifting equipment but they list Epco and should be able to put you in touch with service companies that can help.

However, I found this information using the keywords above:
http://www.jacking.s...a_hydraulik.htm
"EPCO ceased production in the early 90s. We still have a large stock of spare parts from the 50s onwards for EPCO jacks, cranes, pumps and cylinders. Please contact us if you want to know more about EPCO spare parts."

Paying to have the crane professionally repaired is likely going to cost you more than it is worth. Based on that (and the information above) you will probably find it easier to bite the bullet and buy a small folding engine crane from some place like Machine Mart. I checked their web site and it appears their smallest unit runs 160 GBP. There should be less expensive options for you if you shop around locally.
