I'd reccomend flaring those holes - I appreciate you did you say you were going to.... Under the bonnet etc I'd not bother, but the sills and crossmember you really should.

Without the flare the holes will weaken your structure in a really big way. Put flares on them and you will see little difference in the strength for the weight loss.

I can't flare the holes in the sills, thats why i only put 4 smaller holes each side. I'll try to do something with the cross members thats for sure. Will mean one bigger unflared hole in one spot though!

Yesterdays removed metal came to 421g but with the bonnet as well the total comes in at 621g not bad IMO! For reference if your interested Ben, each 44mm disc comes in at about 8g.

Ok, sweet, good too know some numbers. I will start this as soon as i've got an MOT.

Im going to aim too loose 1kg with the holes.


You should do the inner boot skin and inner door skins with it aswell.

to be honest I'm not really bothered about the door/bonnet/boot skins as they are all being replaced with FG/CF at some point along with a CF roof. Removing 1kg should be easy enough Ben

Replaced my track rod ends to QH spitfire ones today - Much better than longer mini ones. For a start they are about 5mm longer! I'v had 2 sets of longer mini ones wear out in under 6 months

Stonechipped the boot today. Made a right hash of it to be honest but i wasn't going to stand out in the rain making a neat job when its all coming out anyways. Ermmmm got my Wilwood clutch slave today, but was a bit gutted as i had to pay customs charge. But even so its still not expensive and its a good bit of kit. pictures in a bit
