Yup, i cut it out the original subframe, made it nice and round, then welded it in the hole. Hard to explain what it looks like unless you cut it out - forgot to get pictures of that :(

Had a bit of a winter re-vamp today. Chucked the carpets back in, drained the rad and put anti-freeze in, fixed the electrical problems and welded the check-strap bracket on the door frame. Also got fed-up of the SC drops , so took them out and swapped for the standard A+ Helical gears. Much quieter now :). Had to make a tool to lock the gears to undo the primary shaft nut though but didnt get any pictures. Will get some tomorrow.

Dunno whether to flog the drops or not yet.

Well my car well and truly shat itself today. Driving to work as usual - *sniff* *sniff* "what's that?" *looks at oil gauge* "OH F*CK!!!!!" Yes thats right it read ZERO! killed the power, slammed my anchors on and pulled over. The cyclist i had just overtaken found it rather amusing (unlike me!!). Check under the bonnet, but the massive puddle of oil under the car was a good give away at what had just happened. The oil pipe for the oil cooler had blown off the union and pumped several liters of oil - practically everywhere. So rang dad - got a tow back home and got picked up for work!!
Anyways, got back home and dad had filled with new oil as he was off work today. Changed the oil cooler crap to the standard metal pipe, churned it over with the plugs out and it read 70psi - good start. Put the plugs in, started first time, then ran it up to temp. No noises or clonks yet, so was looking good. Took it for a 3 mile run whilst being followed by the recovery service (AKA dad), now sits at idle at about 5psi below what it was before. Last thing i needed was a spun main just before xmas!!!

Another great start to the week ^_^

At least its not fecked!!

Its surprising just how much abuse the little A-series can take before it spits it dummy(or crank bearings) out!!
