Thought I'd try this (half expecting it not to work at all)

Welds came out OK, seeing as i made no effort to clean the metal.

So here is what i ended up with:

Obviously I've still got a long way to go but its the same principal as this:

Hopefully will allow me to get the engine back far enough to get it under a standard roundnose.

Top arms will be a similar design to the bottom arms. Will use a shortened bottom arm turned upside down on the opposite side with another tie rod. All adjustable. Obviously running coilovers as well.

Cheers guys. Still a LOT more work to do on the frame though. Hopefully it will be worth it.

Dunno what i would do without it shifty :dontgetit: . Did get the grinder out but only had 1 disc left :). Anyways the cutter is much more fun ;)

Looks great tom. Im looking forward to seeing how you get on trying to fit it under the roundnose. I presume you'll be trying to do it without a bonnet bulge like fbm-spec's car?

Ideally I'd like to fit it without any bulges yeah. But if i have to stick one in it won't be the end of the world - the main one is to get it under a standard length front as I'm not a fan of extended fronts or clubman fronts on an original roundnose!!

Looks like your progress is faster than mine. You'll be finished before me at this rate. :(

Are you planning on bracing the top mount down to the frame in some way?
