Well done on winning the engine. What are you doing subframe wise? Custom made or off the shelf?
What will you be doing with the small bore?

 Just told dad about the redtop today - wasnt best pleased :techsupport: Will be a custom subby more than likely  Well the smallbore will be staying in for a while longer - gives me time to strip and rebuild the vaux lump, build the conversion kit up and wait a bit till I'm near 21 :). So the Redtop is a long term plan really. Gives me something to do, and will stop me spending trying to get as much poke as i can from an A-series, as i seem to keep spending on it really with no big effect.

Just got home from picking the beast up. Had to work this morning from 5:30 till 9, then shoot straight over to Peterborough and get it - worked quite well :)

Just been looking through the boxes of bits and it all looks good to me :errr: . Paid the sum total of £300 for the lot. Bargain. Gonna spend the rest of the weekend stripping her down and generally eyeing up the engine to find out where everything goes. Is there a haynes for the C20XE lump? Could come in handy.

Pics later

Was too knackered to start stripping it properly, but managed to get some crap off the front of it with a scraper and a shot blaster and took the cam cover off :D

Looking good mate you got a bargain their. A couple of questions. 1 can you buy sub frames for this engine with ease or do you have to get them custom made? 2 Do you have to cut the front of your mini off to get this to fit or does it just fit in without putting an extend front on it?

Cheers. :D

You can get the big block subframe/kit from Allspeed though i think its near on £700 :D. So I've decided I'm going to make my own up from those kits advertised on 16v (i think its on there?) About £160, then you chop a standard subby and add mounts. I'm still looking into what front fits, A clubby will definitely fit obviously and so will an extended front (though i despise them!!), but it is possible to get it under a standard round-nose with a bit of patience and engineering. I think a bonnet bulge is in order though :)
