Cheers for that

I'm stuck between a 3.1 and 3.44, will probably stick with the 3.44 though.

Yeah its got a 3.44 FDR in it. I would say its livable with, but then ive got SC drops and a weber and its not as bad as them!. Acceleration is hard to compare as its a completely different engine now, but it seems to change gear at the right times (if that makes sense). Personally i did prefer the 3.1, as i got into the habit of changing into 3rd about 45mph, now its more like 35mph change really. Still a nice drive ratio though. Sits at 70ish around 4krpm on the gauge, although thats pretty useless information as i know the rev counter is reading high :)

Im having the lump out soon, so might try a 3.76 ratio seeing as this one revs a bit more.

This worries me with my choice of a 3.6FD, probably going to have just forget about 1st gear all togther!

Well at your spec it should rev like a goodun, so it shouldn't run out of speed :D. Its just a case of whether you can put of with the noise really.

Well they way i drive mine, this time next week!! Had her up to 7.5K last week sometime.... on a standard crank :). Got a spare one here, so might send that to MED to get the treatment.

Anyways, the boss gave me a couple days off, and got my new trolley jack from Machine Mart today, so got the car up in the air and trial fitted the sump guard. Took the car off the ramps and it sits just under 60mm high from the road :). Hope Mini-tastic reply to my email sometime soon!. Guard came off as i dont have the Minispares order arrive till tomorrow, which doesnt include the oil hose as they are out of stock.

Also been busy doing something else, but thats a surprise till tomorrow :)

Well yeah, not done much really. Got oil cooler fitted, and sump guard holes are drilled - will fit that tomorrow. Managed to shear the oil hose end screwing it into the filter housing though :) so had to chop the original threaded adaptor and weld that to what was left of the new union.

Also got a new thick-walled rocker shaft as my one was well passed it. Got fed up of skinning my knuckles on things adjusting the tappets from last time, so made this little beauty:

Just an 11mm socket welded to a piece of tube and a BIG nail welded to that to make a handle. Obviously the idea was to raise the turning handle so i cant skin my knuckles, and still leaves a hole down the middle for a flat head screwdriver. So changed the shaft today and now sounds much less tappetty.

This will no longer be a small bore in 12 months

Going to collect a C20XE i just won on eBay, at the weekend. Comes with all the carp - F20 'box, ECU, wiring loom, driveshafts, manifold, ancillaries etc.

Bit of a bargain, and only 60 miles away.

How much did you pay for it?
Are you going for an extended or slab front?
What will be fueling it?

Throttle bodies I hope.

Too right! R1 ITB's, and megajolt for ignition.

As for fronts, whatever fits. Not keen on the extended's so probably clubby front.

And i dont want to say how much I paid till its in my hands :shifty:
