Not done too much to this lately really - which is why i have a bit more money to spend on the Minus :P. Anyways:

Stuck a nice 5" steel Maniflow inlet manifold on her :P . Wasn't cheap but definitely worth it - so much more torque lower down! I welded a couple of boss' on the manifold for the Megajolt vacuum take-offs as the tube is too thin to tap directly. Which left me with a problem for the brake servo. Ran it around for a couple of days without a servo while i came up with a plan. *Brainwave* - tapped into the megajolt vacuum line with a "T" piece, cut down the old servo pipe and reduced it onto the 6mm pipe with a bit of hose from my eezibleed kit :( workes a treat now! Transformed the brakes i can tell you! Because of the angle of the manifold, it hit the bottom of the bulkhead box, so then had to get around that problem by removing the engine steady, sleeving and welding that with a bit of tube and fitting it back on with a bit of a fight. I did try a 1275 longer steady but it was too short :shy: and couldnt really justify an adjustable steady as its not something im likely to adjust on a regular basis :(.

Now left with another problem though :(. Now the engine sits at a different angle, the exhaust hits against the exhaust tunnel at a funny angle, so ive now got to invent something to solve that (when i cba :P)

And Friday night, Managed to bribe my bothers mate to work on the mini! Got him to change the front discs, as left foot braking and general heavy use didnt agree with the old ones :dontgetit: Anyways they are changed now and all is looking good :D Except ive managed to do in my A032-R's in under 1500 miles - so ive now got a set of A008's off the forum to use once they get here.

Pretty much happy that its "run-in" now. Dropped the oil for the last time, cleaned the magnet on the back of the 'box and Duckhams 20/50 went in.

Nooooo. Had to drive the work van for the first time today. What a pile of absolute W*NK! Got back in the mini to come home, brakes felt like carp, but no understeer, no squealing wheels turning corners, it actually speeds up when you plant your foot (not that i had that in the van  )

The van felt like a lorry! :(

Tomorrows job, is to wire the headunit in, to enable maximum choon use at IMM. Also NEED new tyres on the front. Bought some from a matey off here, but he went for a job interview last friday and havn't hear back yet. Might mean robbing the CAMACS off the minus! :( . Needs new shoes on the rear, and wheel bearings. Also need to get me a CB radio/repair mine before IMM. I seem to have a knack of cutting deadlines fine

Well thats some jobs done already :( . Got my brothers mate to help me again  Managed to change and adjust the rear shoes, wire & test head unit, and bolt the heater back in that fell on my feet a few days ago. Not bad.

Cheers lads.

Today was a bit of a strange 'un. Wanted to get up early to sort my electrikery jobs, so i got up at half 11 ;). But wasnt a big deal, as i went out in the car about 12 and it was fine - so i put it down to wet electrics. The trouble is, is that it wasnt :(. Anyways, i fitted the brake bias valve, codged a rack up for IMM, tested the head unit out good (flat battery :)) then tacked the loom at about 6 this evening . Tried to do it without taking the loom out but wasnt to be. Ended up taking the front loom out, re-taping, joining broken wires and kept trying till everything worked. Finished about 8.

It was well fubar though :- - my hazard switch operated the washer pump, right indication triggered side lights and rear fog, fog switch operated the wipers, headlight switch operated the hazards :) The only thing that worked was left indication!

Anyways, pics:
