Hi everybody

Just a quick question.

In the future i would like to do a honda engine conversion on my clubman and i would really love to drop a Type R engine in there.

However i dont want to mod the front in any way whatsoever so as far i can tell i need a 1.8 engine.

Am i correct in thinking that they did a 1.8 type r engine for the intergra?

Thx Stu

The Integra DC2 engine is indeed a 1.8.

it depends what subframe you go for.

mine uses a watsons frame and has almost no torque steer. I can give it full beans on bumpy roads with no priblems O_O

Ive heard that some of the subframes that use mini suspention have lots of torque but i have never driven one

As said the B18C engine from the Integra DC2 is the 1.8 which will fit. IF you can get you hands on a JDM spec one they have a little more power I beleive.

There are a few for sale one ebay, though I have seen some go much cheaper on the Integra forums.

My mate has a DC2 'teg and it's awesome, B18C is a brilliant engine.

Not as good as an H22A7 (my Accord's engine) mind you lol

Thx for the light by the way and it would be cool to pop a H22A7 in there but space wise hmm not thinking it would not work also want to keep the mini running gear and track width!!!

Quick question am i right in thinking the B18C only had a 5 speed box not a 6 speed like the new Civic Type R's?

My house mate, has also got a Teg I wouldn't mind the engine out of 98spec JDM. One day he's going to wake up and have no engine in his car

I have seen the beginnings of a conversion where one guy put the engine and subframe into a round nose front without chopping the front end off. He did have to modify the inner wings to gain clearance for the gearbox and possibly the crank pully (it was a long time ago that i saw the pictures.

One downside is that you'll have to lower the car down onto the engine and subframe.

Ive only seen this done with a round nose mind. But I cant see the clubby being too much wider in the engine bay.

Im sure that picture is from a company called Tegiwa Imports?

My other car is pretty much a teg, just a poor mans version!

seriously tho, a B18 into a mini? Would you ever get traction? I would of thought a B16 would of been ample? And half the price!

Sy's was the first VTEC mini to be made road legal, years back! It's a 1.8 Integra Type R, with DTA engine management.... it's fast, but definitely has traction!

Shouldn't this be in a proper mini section of the forum by now??
