All left to do now is finish the cooling system, lights etc and get the exhaust on - then she's ready for the MOT. Cant w8.

Also, as promised:

As for petrol coming back out of the petrol cap, presumably just a bad seal, I'm not sure how much a new petrol cap costs but I'm sure it's not much - probably worth it to see if it cures it :D I have petrol stains down the side of my Mini too :w00t:

Yeah Iv had a look at my mates too and it seems common. Mite replace the lot and its job done then. Just a pain the @rse cus its ruined my paintwork under the cap.

O well, I guess some days you're the statue, other days you're the pigeon!! :P

Saterday was a mixed day - I managed to give myself concussion walking into the MOT ramp at my brothers garage which prompted a little day off work yesterday, but we also managed to drive Barny for the 1st time having freed up the clutch!!

Its a shame my drive is an uphill climb from the garage - ran outa petrol half way up - D'oh! All topped up now and finishing touches to be added. Interior goes in tomorrow nite - pix will follow!! :w00t:

OK im starting to panic.

Ronnie refuses to start now - have topped him back up with petrolium but nothings flowing thru the pipes when i turn the key - think the problem may lye with the fuel pump being clogged up with craaap from the bottom of the tank - anyone agree/disagree? comments really are appreciated.

On a brighter note, the new interior is in (Bar the new carpets which im still waiting for !!!!!) :( Looks ace tho

If fuel isn't getting to the carb then yes,.. there's a fair old chance of the pump being clogged or otherwise faulty. If fuel is getting to the carb but not to the engine it could be that the float and needle valve are dirty.

It seems my mini doesnt want to go L2B

Got it all started and petrol flowing again! Even took it for a spin around my road.

V.V. Smokey
Oil V.V. Watery - did a total oil change and still watery
Now doesnt start

Not looking good. Im hoping that a full gasket change may be the answer...

One hopes so, otherwise its back to square 1 again. New gasket aquired from Himley yesterday - jus gotta take the top of the engine apart again now.

great project

Thanks. Ran out of attachment space so wont be adding any more pix.

Got the head pressure tested and was leaking so had it fixed and skimmed.

I put the engine back together but still cant get the little bugger running rite! Way too smokey. Think oil is shooting up the sides of the pistons. Guna have to take then engine back out again and recondition the block. ;) :P :P
