£5 is correct. The front page is out of date.

Pity - I get so many junk emails purporting to claim there is a problem with my Paypal account when I have not got one!! Obviously a scam. Iw as going to take a Paypal account out but with all this junk appearing I prefer to stay away for now. Otherwise I have no objection to Paypal - good system. Pity as I would love to contribute to what must be one of the most successful forums ever, notwithstanding the discounts.
If you could come up with an alternative payment method I'd be happy.

What e-mail service do you use?

I use Gmail and it's very effective at filtering out all the scam e-mails and spam. I only ever get e-mails I want to receive in my inbox.

It might make you feel more secure about using PayPal?

Two good ideas - I use Thunderbird which you teach to filter out the spam, but if Paypal send an email when you sign up, to confirm you are you, them how will it differentiate between good and bad.

So please reassure me - do the real Paypal ever send emails when you set up an account via your website as part of the setup process?
(my bank, HSBC, do not as policy use emails to contact customers, they send an old fashioned letter).

Thunderbird is only an e-mail client. Who is your e-mail service provider? Hotmail? Yahoo?

Gmail is a web based e-mail service but it's very good.

BT Mail

Thunderbird filter system is very good - no complaints there. I stuck with a conventional email client because the web based systems could not be used unless you were connected to the internet, although things may be different and more mature now. Aren't Hotmail and Yahoo web based services?
Incidentally we steer clear of any Microsoft software - to much trouble.

I think I'll find a mate with Paypal.

Just noticed that my TMF+ membership has ran out, but I was on the thought that system would renew and take payment automatically...

do I need to renew it manually from the Subscriptions tab?

thanks
