I think getting rid of the foam sound deadening and cleaning the bulkhead would be a good start. You can always replace it with new if you want to. I don't like the foam because it holds water and causes rot, plus it can look scruffy.

If you reach up under the scuttle you should find a few small metal tabs which should be used to secure the sound deadening and hold the loom and washer tubes up out of sight.

Giving the rocker cover a clean up with something like WD or brake cleaner then a polish or even a blow over with some paint might cheer it up a bit too.

Just having a general clean of the engine bay and everything you can reach in it will probably make a big difference

Hope that's helpful!

it took a lot of work because we soon found out that it had some damage to the front end at some point in its life and it took a while to get all the panel gaps flush

Sorry it's taken me a while to get back to you - yes it was DSN Classics who supplied the airbox stub finisher @ £13.50 posted. Its a lovely thing, beautifully made and push-fits perfectly.%5BIMG%5Dhttp://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j32/johnR21/001_zpsfmkvxhsi.jpg

just breather hoses to sort12465938_10153944530831654_6710981161060

Very nice!

If you don't mind me asking, where did you get your HT leads from? Are they custom?

I've got a first gen coil pack with the leads from a zetec I think, they are too long and have straight ends at the spark plugs.

Cheers,
Ian
