...no..that's just not good enough!!! lol...so..I have a 97' mpi. How the hell do you get the engine bay so clean? And what few items that are relatively inexpensive could i get just to smarten mine up a bit?

rocker covres, t bars, and dipsticks usually hep, but nothing like a proper good clean:P mines a mess ot so dont worry... us MPI owners have more to clean if you really find yourself with way too much moeny on your hands (HA) get yourself only to smiffy's bits website... everything shiny you could ever need

yeah mpi's are a bit tricky to clean.. i usually clean the grease of my block with petrol but only when its extremely dirty.. otherwise powdered clothes washing soap and a soft sponge can work wonders.. black hoses can be removed an washed and then once fitted back you could apply some silicone spray to freshen it up and get it looking shiny.. some metal polish would be good for the shiny bits.. does wonders.. and doesnt cost too much at all.. :)

When i had it anyway, sold it since.

Dirty mismatched engine bays have always annoyed me, so its well worth doing. Was hard work though.

Now my engine is.. Well lets just say I don't think it's ever been tidied or cleaned in the 22 years it's been on planet earth.. I don't have a lot of time on my hands and need the car everyday, how can I make mine look fairly pretty without taking the engine out or anything daft like that?
