I have a 2 clock Clubman that is going to have a 3 clock conversion (rev counter).
On My son's City there are 2 extra wires behind his 2 clock binicale Black/White which I guess is to the coil and Green/? (lighting ?) but on the Clubman there is only the Black/White wire.
Do I need the Green/? (cant remember the strip colour) or can it be taken from somewhere else?

Is it light green/orange perhaps? The power to the rev counter is light green/orange and the signal, as you have spotted, is the white/black that goes to the coil...

Have another look for the wire, it's usually taped back along the dash loom or may be inside the loom tape. Minis were either built with none or both of the tacho wires when this type of wiring (with the white/black tacho trigger but that assumes I've guessed the age rough of the car well enough) was fitted, never just one of the two. What age is the Clubby? It makes a difference, the wiring changed many times in 41 years.

Ok i will look for the wire as it is probably there but i have another problem. Someone before has pulled the coil wire Black/white out of the back of the rev counter and has foolishly pulled the connection out with it and snapped it clean off.

Ive had the rev counter apart and the wire is still inside so I was thinking maybe I could get one from another rev counter and solder it back together.
Ok this is what I found in the Clubman above the heater. Just a Green/white with female connection. Not had the loom tape off though.

And in my son's Mayfair and City it has the Green/orange with Spade

Also looked in the wiring diagram with no help
The Clubman is a 1977 make

I'm also installing a 3 clock into a 2 clock car. Which is the coil connection on the back of the rev counter - the spade or the bullet?

rallymini - the bullet connector is the signal wire from the coil.
Dan/not so mini - There is a possibility that the light green/orange wire is NOT present, even though the white/black one is - this is exactly how the loom in my '79 Clubby estate is (and I removed all of the loom tape to add circuits and re-tape it, so I know it wasn't just taped back in the loom). You will have to run a new ignition switched live from the fusebox for the rev-counter if it's not there. The light green/white wire is a stereo feed.
