Hi all.
Nick from Bishop Stortford Hertfordshire UK. Found forum on google.
Own a 1989 mini which I garaged at my old mans house for 6 long years after I rebuilt it with a 1460cc A series, then had to park it up (life changes).
Time to rekindle the 19 year old obsession after moving to a house with a garage! Let the fun commence!

I found this place whilst looking for replacement parts for my mini but never payed much attention until I did the London to Brighton with my dad. After that I decided this was a good place to get into the community and found it again after a quick Google search.

Hi, the site was recommended to me when I enquired about a mini for sale - unfortunately it was sold, but he recommend that I look here. I am looking to buy a Mini saloon (70's, 80's or early 90's - not a Clubman) for ~£2000-£3000 and could just do with some advice/a few pointers please. I'm looking for a 1275 - 1400cc, one that looks & sounds 'pokey' as a second car - just for some fun, not as a project and one that therefore doesn't really need anything doing on it - I don't have the time anymore... I'm not massively mechanically minded but did own a few Minis in my dim & distant past - ok, it's a mid-life crisis then...!!
I'm just after some pointers please as to where to look (I've been looking in the press / Mini mags/ BMC / internet etc.) I would also appreciate a steer re a classic car insurer.
I live just south of Birmingham, but could obviously travel for the right car.
If any of the members are able to help, that would be great! Thanks in advance.

Hi,
I am getting married on the 20th June 2014 and my dad's first car was a mini cooper which he remembers very fondly.
It would be an amazing surprise if a mini would turn up to drive us to the registry in Chelsea, London on my special day!
My budget is pretty tight so I would really welcome any suggestions ( or offers ) You really would be creating a lot of happiness for the best dad in the world.
Many thanks,
Christina

Just browsing the net in reference to Minis.
Just about to start a resto on a 1969 Austin Mini Cooper S that has been living in my garage for 14 years. It's still buried (covered up) with car stuff from other cars as well as some parts I ordered way back when I got it, and it has a friend behind it being my sisters (passed away in 2000) 1965 Austin mini with the stock lump 850. This car ran when I put it in the garage but by now the carbs will need some help to come back to life.
I would like to start on the resto but after some reading on the net, I'm beginning to wonder where I could start in my limited space. Presently we're house hunting in hopes of finding a house where I can put in a metal building for a shop since the garage just seems to fill up and hinder in depth fixing of just about anything I drag in.
What can I do to begin the resto under these circumstances? I would like to do something. I have hopes when we find a house or a I sell my Mustang to put a rostiserie in the garage and do the floor first since it has to be removed completely. I already have a one piece MKIV floor I got across the pond but since it is a MKIV, I'll have to do a few adjustments to make it a MKII and I'm sure when I begin removing the old rusty floor some more surprises will be in store. I've hunted a bit for a clean shell with no luck.
So that is where I am. Where could I start?

Im from Surrey, England.
Came across the site while researching minis, I have a huge interest in the little car and (being 15) am looking for a respectable first car.
Looking for a 90s rover mini mayfair that I can make look like a mk1, with mk1 grille etc. I have no intent to fake the car just personal satisfaction.
Thanks :)
