i havnt even commented here yet even though i joined a while ago!.. i cant here because someone one minifinity flamed me for posting too much, which is pathetic really because here they dont care how much you post as long as its appropriate. i have to say tmf is much better and the forum design is much more eye pleasing. keep up the good work tmf :D

[code]I've reach that time in my life when I have the need to have a mini again.

I found this site via Google and I'm looking forward to being a member here. My local town is Cambridge.

I have a 1980 998cc mini, most of the panels need replaceing (stood in a field for 2 years) so I have stripped everything down to the bare bones and the remaining body is now "spit roasted" while I'm working on the panels.

I'm thinking about fitting the rear suspension beam from a Pug 205 this will increase the rear track by about 8 cm. My rear sub frame is well past its sell by date. I also plan to fit side exhaust pipes but will at the moment keep the 998 engine.

Can't remember how I found this place, checking my profile I see I joined Dec 07 and i'm just getting around to my 1st post - work on my car is about as fast........

So I'm currently putting back together my Mini, an '85 998 City E......my 1st car. I've had it since i was 16 (18 years...), learnt to drive in it, past my test in it - did a few things for the first time in it  :P Other cars came and went but i always kept my Mini, upgrading over the years but luckily always keeping the original bits. It got nicked and recovered in 2001 and was a bit of a mess so I took it off the road - finally started work on it last year. So now the shell is done and i'm refitting it back up with mostly new parts - the fun part! Progress is slow because I live in London and the car is at my folks place in Norfolk. That and i'm busy keeping my other cars on the road....... which are a '27 Model T with a 350 SBC, a 58 Triumph Bobber, an 85 Honda Dax and a Mondeo Wagon parts chaser!

Cheers guys and bear with me and the stoopid questions......

G'day i'm bradford from Sydney, Australia. If anyone is interested, just call me brad :mrcool:

I've got a 1963 Mini 850, originally Smoke Grey, and not much else. Currently going through a rebuild (been on-going for the past 8 years). We have a 1430 ex-hillclimb motor to go in, though we'll be changing the cam to something mild for the road, plenty of neat peices and tricks from a mate who raced them and sports sedans in the 60's, 70's & 80's  so it should be fun! hope it'll be on the road in the next year.

Anyway, i heard about this forum in one of the recent MiniWorld magazines. Being a member of quite a few car forums in Australia, i figured it might be worthwhile joining a big mini Forum.... so here we are.
