I found out about this site when I was looking for various websites on minis. I have currently just restored a 1989 Racing Flame and I have totally rebuilt it from an absolute heap that needed everything doing to it including rear subframe, full front end, door skins, sills etc. When I started it, I realised that I'd took on a bit too much but as I am an ex-car painter I persevered and finally got it finished three weeks ago. It is now on the road and is totally unrecognisable, painted in Old English White with a black roof and sports pack arches and a nice set of 7x13" revos.
Enclosed is a picture of what it looks like now and I will soon send in a picture of it from when I had first bought it.

My name's John from Bridgend in South Wales where men are men and sheep are scared!
I'm getting on a bit but at 54 I still have a passion for cars!
My first car was a Mini Cooper S in British Racing Green with a white roof, registration number JHW 257E - I wonder if it's still alive! It was a hand-me-down from my father who also had a passion for cars. My dad was a 'time served engineer' and was brilliant and fixing all thing mechanical.
My passion recently led me to buy my most radical car to date, an Ariel Atom and geez do I love it!!! I collected my Atom on Nov 5th 2005 having been a member of the Ariel Atom Owner's Club for somewhile before that. Some other mini owners also have Atoms, it was one who led me to this forum.
My other car is an ageing Ford Mondeo, it just keeps going and going but, I feel the need for a change and a mini is top of the list.
Anyway, here's a picture of my current ride and I think a nice mini would look nice alongside

My hobby is also car related! When I purchased my Atom there was a demand for Atom branded clothing so, as my partner Angie loves sewing we purchased an industrial embroidery machine. The learning curve was huge and we're still learning 2 years on. We now produce embroidery patterns for lots of car related clubs - I do the pattern designing and Angie does the sweat shop work, but we love it.
That's about it for now.
Cheers
John
