Hi I found you on the web after much searching! I'm in the process of buying a second hand mini which I intend rebuilding. As I live in South Africa, it will be a bit awkward to find certain spares that you fit on your cars. Has anyone ever fitted a Rocam engine which is the engine fitted to the South African Ford Fiesta, Ikon and Focus. They come in 13, 14 and 16cc sizes. Otherwise I'll have to consider a v-tec motor as we don't have Vauhall cars in South Africa. Any info will be most appreciated in my venture.

Hi all!
I'm John. was introduced to this forum by Smudger whom I'd met on another car forum.

Don't currently own a mini, but I've had a few including a mk1 of about '62 vintage I think, and a Mini Clubman Estate which was externally almost completely standard (just wide wheels & arch extensions), but internally it had a 1275GT engine that had been breathed on a fair bit . It was great fun. maybe this is the 1st step to getting another Mini :P

From Yeovil, Somerset, found you lot on Google... Seems a real decent place, if you catch me on here in school hours, tell me to get off! Should be revising! Haha.

Hi - I'm Dave from Bishop's Stortford - my son just invested in a good condition Mini Mayfair (1996 - 1275cc, 2-door) and I plan to use you experts on this forum to get advice on keeping it in tip-top running condition. Anyone know where I can get a spare ignition key - the car only came with one?

Any locksmith should be able to cut you a second.

Hi I'm Marco from Malta
I landed on the site while looking for information for a friend of mine who is nuts on Minis. I currently drive a Fiat Punto 75 SX which I bought new and occasionally my wife's boring Subaru J10. I am also re-building a classic Fiat 500L. I have helped a few friends redo part of their Mini or Metro and I have also driven a Mini several times. I just love the way Minis go round corners. We used to get lots of Minis here in Malta however most are now being scrapped. It is a great pity.

I imagine you get a fair few old minis too, Mk1s, Mk2s, etc. If only there was a way to get them back to blighty, I think most people in the UK, or even in the states would snap them up!

I too found the forum by chance while 'googling around' have only been on here about a week, but everyone's been really firendly. I may have to give up work though, just to keep up with all the action on here!
