2 black Minis? I s'pose you'll only need the one tin of touch up!

If you're on about the steering wheel in your piccies, the leather is an aftermarket  cover that laces on.

*Ahem* One black mini & one anthracite.  :geek:

Yep, it's a simple strip of leather, but the lacing is really tight....(corsetry?) & it's a fiddly job. It would be nice to have the original one back, so I shall see what I can do.

Might have found him a set of steel wheels! Woop-di-woop!  :proud:

'kin awesome!     Congrats on the MOT  :-) .

p.s - have a go at retrimming the steering wheel - I did mine and it's quite satisfying (if a little fiddly), and I'm no seamstress (or whatever the bloke equivalent is called)!

Two years since last update...

Tommy is still with us & has been on the road since rebuild.

He's a peppy little brrrm who is enjoying being a second car to both me & t'other half - who is becoming a mini convert - well, a GT convert at least.

He's run in well, but suspension is still settling even after 2000 miles.

He's nicely tuned but could do with a rolling road sesh, really. Beautiful drive now he has loosened up a little. Dead chuffed.

We're looking forward to another L2B but I hope we have a chance to clean & shine him first.

Was wondering how he was doing. Any chance of some more pics of the car as he looks now?

Well, he ain't changed much since rebuild! Electronic ignition, and narrower tyres & and that's about it.

(Still haven't replaced his grille badge that I ...erm....might have snapped...accidentally like.... >_< )

L2B last year:

On the way to Beaulieu last year. I shouldn't let him drive.  >_<

Making friends last month. Still riding a little high at the front. Need heavier passengers!

At work a couple of weeks back:

The 145s look so much better than the 165s. Far less bulky & he handles better, too.

He doesn't get driven much in the rain, but still the engine bay has become a bit of a mess, so I'll take a pic after a quick squirt, wipe 'n' buffage.  :proud:

Oh, it (or 'they') were a pain. All of 'em.

With a bit of filler to smooth over, a respray & a polish, I can now use it to help me apply my lipstick. Which was every fuel tank should be for, obviously.

It's that time of year again.

Tommy is sitting his Motor Ordinance Test tomorrow. I hope he has done enough revision this year.  :geek:

He's done just over 2,000 miles since rebuild, and he gets out more than he used to. Now we are down to a 'one mini family', his parents are squabbling over who gets to drive him to work on a sunny day.

Today, I won.  :proud:
