Yesterday, when he had passed his MOT, I had a little terrifying drive & then introduced him to his little sister Matilda:
He's so frakking shiny!
Before the finishing touches:
Today we put on his decals. The gold stripes really finish him off & disguise the excesses of his current wheels. They're a bugger to get in place, but they make the car. Love it. Thank you to Roofless Stickyfingers for making them.
I found some replica Unipart & 'Negative earth' stickers on ebay & from Smiffy's Bits (crap phot - I was getting excited!)
...and a shameless 'selfie' because he so shineeee....
Hopefully he'll have his first proper show tomorrow, weather permitting. More pics shall follow.

I think I have joined that page, not sure?
I found an exact replacement, thanks. I would like to repair his old one, though. Not sure my sewing skills are up to repairing 40 year old leather.
Thanks for your guide with the decals, GraemeC. They were invaluable!
He got to his first show OK, but then wouldn't start when we wanted to escape the incoming rain. Starter motor won't turn the engine. New parts, eh?
His clocks are also iffy. Speeo seems to be OK, but fuel & temp gauges are intermittent & the rev counter has shed its mortal coil, so he's not coming home just yet.
He drives really well, though. Very stiff, but starting to loosen up. Dead chuffed!

Happy felicitations and all that stuff. Also admiration for detail work. Hope the niggles are soon un-niggled.

Thankings Teapops.
Trying to find him some new clocks now. Hoping the boys can sort his starter motor this week. It's already been taken apart & rebuilt once, and it's BRAND NEW. Harumph.

2 black Minis? I s'pose you'll only need the one tin of touch up!
If you're on about the steering wheel in your piccies, the leather is an aftermarket cover that laces on.
