OK, well after a month of cogitation & calculating & chatting & rebuilding relationships & stuffs, it is decided that Tommy is staying. :D

He's going to be a much longer term project than originally planned. BUT, we will rebuild him eventually. We have the technology...... :D

My offer's still there Ju!

Anyway, glad that you've come to your senses about Tommy. He's going to be a corker when he's finished anyway!

Somebody told me today that there is a slot in the bodyshop's schedule with Tommy's name on it. I had a good look at him today (his shell, anyway). Despite sitting outside for a year now (under a disintegrating cover), I don't think he's in too bad a nick & won't need any more panels than previously thought.

He gets to the shotblaster next week. :genius:

(about frakking time too. :D )

Cheek.

He's at the shotblasters & will be thoroughly exfoliated this week. Am hoping to get some pics too. Looks like he might not need a whole new floor now. Might be able to get away with some decent patchwork. Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!

Yay!

Am having more thoughts.

OK, so I want my little Tommy fella to be original. However, I would like to use him quite a lot & I don't want to destroy his original seats with my abrasive arse. :D

He has a set of gold minilites as his everyday wheels & I'm having his denovos refurbed for speshul days.

So, I was thinking, how's about getting hold of a set of spare second hand seats & having them covered in black vinyl with gold piping? Continue the black & gold theme throughout? I think that may just be ultra-fabby for everyday pootling :mrcool: . What do you reckon? ;)

I have it on good authority that BL brushed nylon velour was a front runner as a potential covering for the space shuttle so I don't think it's anything worry about urgently. Your seat will go saggy before it wears through - maybe Tommy's too :D

It's the foam perishing that worries me. My enormous cats have been nesting on them in the back bedroom for the past 6 months too. :D

It already has. Gravity has finally won the battle. :mrcool:

Juju, just read through from the start and the little fella looks really cool. I'm glad you have resolved the issues you had. Remember it took years to need this work doing so a couple of years to put it right again won't hurt. Time is a great healer as they say!

You seem to have this one well in control from where i'm sitting.

Good look and keep the faith!!!!!!!!!

foams foam. At the end of the day you can change the seat base in an hour should you wear it out. :dontgetit:
