I got it from Geronimo Cages- I know there has been a few bad reviews about them lately but I am really please with it. Only thing I had to do was trim the rear bin height a little to get it in. Looks good though - will look even better once I have powder coated it.

What do you all think of the colour hyper blue - attached in the picture below - depending on price I am pretty sure i will be painting the car in it.

Thanks

Jon

All welding now finished and seams sealed.

Bottom also painted with stone chip, which will be painted the same colour as the rest of the car.

The whole car is then going to be waxoyles once complete. Used some hammerite rust inhibitor which made all the rust dissapear - i was very impressed.

Thanks

Jon

Got my seats throught the post today - look great and were a very good price!

Picking up a lot of bits on saturday as well, including brakes, gaz shocks, hi los, negative camber kits and a few other bits and pieces.

Just need to get the mini painted to start putting the bits back on.

Cheers

Let me know what you think.

Hi All,

Its been a little while since I posted any updates as there hasn't been much going on with the build as the mini has been getting painted.

Has been a little progress on the engine front though, picked it up yesterday from a guy on here and fitted in the subframes today, so all ready to slot into the shell when i get it back from being painted.

Spec is as follows:

It is an a+ block bored and honed +60 with omega piston.
Kent 296 scatter cam.
New followers.
New oil pump.
New big ends, mains and thrust washers.
Centre oil pickup.
Lightened duplex chain kit.
The block was decked 10 thou.
The head is a big valved mg metro 12g940 which has been polished and ported.
The head has had 30 thou skimmed off it and the valves were all re seated.
It has double valve springs.
Its on a 3.647:1 diff ratio

Heres a couple of pictures:

Its going to be running with a HIFF 44 carb, and I am going to install a megajolt ignition system. Plan for next year is to get a new straight cut gearbox as well, but thats a little far off yet.

Thanks

Picked up the role cage the other day which has been blasted and powdercoated, looks really smart.

Looking good, you dont hang about much do you!

I like the look of the geronimo cage, seem very well priced too but dont know what paoblems people may have encountered.

Keep Cracking!

The cage looks good to me.

The roof bars on mine seem to be further part than some of the earlier ones I have seen which were causing some concern...

I also test fitted it several times, just to make sure it was in the right position and all seemed fine to me.
Cheers

O.k little bit more progress.

Wanted to get the trigger wheel mounted before the engine goes back in the car for the megajolt, so I have machined the pulley and drilled it to accept new trigger wheel that I have bought. As you can see the mounting allows for it to be rotated so greater degree of accuracy can be attained. On Monday I am going to tap the holes, and then mount it back on the engine Monday night. Will update some pictures then also.

I have also started to mock up a sensor bracket but will have to wait until I get the sensor to do any more.

Heres some pictures.

Cheers

Jon

The trigger wheel is now mounted, with the missing tooth at TDC. Was a lot easier than I was expecting.

All fits with no grinding down of bits to allow it to fit, am most impressed!

The sensor is next on the list, so I will be ordering the sensor, edis kit etc from trigger wheels for £40 I think.

Heres a few pictures.

Let me know what you think!

Thanks

Jon
