The black bit is not a glovebox, but it will look like one closed, it will just be a piece of wood screwed to the front of the dash covered in black vinyl... Tell me which ones you guys think look good!

Taken some wire to it today, after 10 meters worth (god only knows where it all went) I have something that resembled this:

Still need to add a connector to the end, sort out the car side of things and get some LED bulbs as the standard ones are soooo dim! Just because I could I plugged it in and turned the lights out, main dials were so dim my camera couldn't pick them up, but as for the aux ones, take a look...

The back looks complicated!
I think all the designs look pretty good to be honest.
Nice work

That looks really good. Id be really pleased if I could produce something like that.

Get some MDF and have ago! If you not sure how to make something, try it in cardboard first... Oh and measure twice, then cut once

The back isn't that hard, I started and the end with the aux gauges on and worked across to the rev counter. Use a multimeter to check the connections when your done and make sure you label what things are! Different coloured wires would make things easier but I only had black. If you don't try you will never know if you can do it

If it all goes to pot, just use your original dash until it looks like you want it to. There are plenty of people who sell plain dashes on ebay so you could get one and try making one around that.

Tell me more about the harness that controls all these gauges... Is it a home-built system, or did you purchase it? I like the extra gauges, but I'm not sure how you're controlling them all through that harness...
The harness is all home built, on the other side of the terminal blocks there is a stereo ISO plug which connects the dash to the car loom (which has also been modified).
The vacuum gauge is mechanical so it gets power/ground/illumination, the voltage gauge again needs power/ground/illumination and finally the oil pressure gauge needs power/ground/illumination/pressure, so really the pressure is the only one that needs controlling via an electric signal, you can see the wire as its the only green wire on the dash. This connects through the ISO plug to a sender in the engine bay.
I have tried to make a circuit diagram below showing where all the wires go. It might explain how the electric side of things work. I have removed the mini pcb from the clocks and then soldered/crimped to the fuel/temp/tacho and the bulbs.
