We've had a few of these - where people have used their comprehensive policy when settling a claim where the other party is at fault 'n in all the ones I've seen people have had poor service of their own insurers.

You did get all your solicitor's costs paid by the other party Wayne, so it was a good move to get professional representation. Mind you, you do have to win to avoid been left with a big bill, or use a no win, no fee company - which isn't always a bed of roses.

Yes all my fees were paid. Even if we lost they would have been paid as thats also the reason you have insurance for protection when it comes to theses things. The only way i could have lost and ended up with fees would have been if it went to court. In the event that you are not happy with what the third parties company have offered you then a court summons can be intrioduced. If it goes to court and the judge decides in your favour that there offer is unreaonable then they will ahve to pay all court costs etc. In the event the judge agrees a lesser value to what they have offered or a value that is equall then you will be liable for costs, this will include cost for any letters etec sent to and from the solicitors after the summons but befor the court appearance, this is due to your own solicitor being unable to regain these costs from the insurance, also your insurance will not protect you from this. A lesson to think about if you are only going to court to gain a few hundred extra then dont bother as you could end up worse off in this sort of case.

Although you may have had difficulty getting through to us,we have a new phone system up and running mean if we are unable to pick up your call every 30 seconds you are given the option to leave your numbe electronically, which then sits in the queue and is automatically called back as soon as someone is free, we also have email facility to [email protected], so you can contact us there too.
We do not deal directly with the claims, you will either use the HIC CLAIMS, which isnt based our our HIC office, or your individual Insurers claim department.
We always recommend the agreed value, it is a charge of 15.75 and we ask for a minium of 6 pictures, we do not usually need a seperate valuation from a third party. Another way we have tried to better our service is that you can do your agreed value straight onto our website, jut fill out the form and upload your pictures so we get it straight away, and your pride and joy can be valued much quicker.
We do try to deal with these the day we recieve them, and with your queries too but sometimes there is just not enough time in the day!

As ive said before if you have any queries do not hesitate to contact myself, its not nice to hear some of you have had problems and we would like to help if we can!
