I need some advice on finishing up my carpeting installation please. The stuff I used fit very well, actually, and only needed a bit of trimming, but I do have a few trouble spots, right near the shifter gator and the e-brake cover that I can't figure out.
Up front, the "wings" of carpeting that frame and surround the shifter boot (which is screwed to the floor with the stock oval frame) flare up and need to be affixed, it looks like, to the metal of the seat rail or the cross-peice supporting the shift mechanism. Is it OK to use some sort of industrial-strength Velcro here, perhaps, so that I can get the carpeting out if need-be?

In the rear, the diamond-shaped dags of material as well as the sides that frame the e-brake cover also stick up. As per the instructions that came with the e-brake cover, I glued it to the metal floor on the sides, but I did NOT glue the front or rear, as I didn't want to foul the e-brake cable.

Can anyone give me some tips on how to nip-tuck the material around the boots for the cleanest-possible finished look? This is the first interior makeover I've ever done, so if anything you see here is obviously wrong or amateur-looking, I'd welcome tips on how to fix it, but please don't scorn my ignorance if you can resist the temptation.

PS - here's a pic of the finished product with the newly-installed seat covers I got (from Emma A. over there in the UK). None of the carpet is glued down yet, due to the issue I'm asking about here as well as the fact that I need to pull out the passenger-side carpet later to weld in a patch.

Thanks in advance for any assistance you can give!
