I quote as a ballpark figure between around £196.54 to £3,478.23 a year.

You'd be better off with a VW forum if you want info about Golf's, insurance is very much a personal thing and its impossible for anyone to estimate (realistically) the cost for you on a car.

Try some of the comparison sites for reference.

Good choice of car by the way!!

I had a mk1 golf cabrio and loved it!

Points to look for......
No rips or leaking hood, they cost approx £500 for a new one
Rust around petrol filler cap, arches, scuttle, top susp mounts and bottom of doors
The MFA usually packs in, it doesn't matter but is annoying!
The carpet nearly always shrinks and the door furniture pulls off easily if you're rough with it as i found out!

Don't let this put you off though, its a great fun car!!

Heres Huey, my old cabrio >_<

it'll be reliable as hell, its veedub, there will be quirks though, there always are, but once you get used to the quirks etc you'll love it and to top it all its a mk1, beautiful car!!! just my view, slightly biased, had many vw's and can safely say i always will!!! >_<
