i beleive they were a tuning company before beign bought by halfords

It is now halfords have bought the name. It was good before that.

Ripspeed was a famous Mini tuning company founded by Keith Ripp who was a well known Mini Rallycross champion in the 70's, also famous for his spectacular encounter with Mabbs' Bank at Lydden in Kent during BBC Grandstands coverage (shown on TV and video many times!).

Don't know if it's rare or not but I'm sure you could advertise it as such on eBay most Mini bits advertised on there are haha..
